devonholls: Just enjoyed a fabulous walk, not very sunny but perfect temperature for hiking
When I think of Devon I think of clean beautiful beaches Devon cream teas and flower filled lanes and inviting countryside. When you are ready for a change - why not try some of these popular Devon attractions:
Devon Cream Teas
There are many cafes and tea rooms which advertise Devon cream teas, but how do you know which to choose? Here are some tips to help ensure you get the best Devon Cream Tea.
Real Devonshire Clotted Cream
Clotted cream has always been made in Devon. Clotted cream has a consistency
like butter and is fantastic on warm bread with jam, but
for a Devon cream tea you need a scone.
Devonshire Scones
The perfect Devon scone is made from eggs, milk, butter
and flour. Devon scones are best served warm and fresh.
Strawberry jam and a pot of tea
Home made strawberry jam, or a good quality
fruit rich strawberry jam are needed for the perfect Devon Cream Tea - but
just as important is the tea. Always heat the pot [avoid metal] and put leaves
- not tea bags, into the pot to warm, then when the water is boiling pour
it onto the leaves and stand for two or three minutes.
Bliss ....
The Eden Project
Eden is first and foremost about reminding us of our dependence on, and connection to, the natural world.
There's always something new to see even if you've been many times before.
Most people have heard about our giant green houses, our thousands of plants,
our world famous architecture and art, but there's even more to Eden than
all of that. We recommend you set aside a good four to five hours for your
visit and if you've been before, come again, as the experience is always
changing.

River Boats
Totnes - Dartmouth Cruise
The Dartmouth River Cruise is a relaxing cruise, as you wind your way
along the river you cruise past the home of the late Dame Agatha Christie
and the pretty little villages of Dittisham and Galmpton. Interesting
and slightly humorous commentary provided by the Skipper. Look out for
the wildlife; cormorants, kingfishers and seals are very often spotted!
Cruise takes 1 ¼ hours. Fully stocked bar serving hot and cold drinks.
You can visit Dartmouth and Totnes Castles, explore and admire both towns,
go shopping, look around the art galleries and Cafes a-plenty!
